Student Chapter - Small steps... A new beginning in EAB

​A Students Chapter was inaugurated by Dr Nadadur, President, in the Government High School in Karahalli, Devanahalli Taluka on April 01, 2021.
 
Dr. Nadadur explained to the students the objectives of EAB and why it was decided to set up Students Chapters in schools. He encouraged students to evince interest in nature and in all the living beings that they see around them – trees, plants, shrubs, insects, butterflies, birds, animals, etc. He also said that EAB would support the activities that they wished to take up.
 
Sri Laksh Kumar, Director, who is handling the Student Chapter portfolio,  described the activities that he had planned for them. These included – biodiversity, waste management, water audit and energy audit. Other activities could also be taken up as the year progressed.
 
Sri Bhaskar, Secretary and Sri Thirumalarao, Director, also spoke and advised the students to ask questions if they saw anything that they did not understand. The activities of the Students Chapter could be taken up along with those of the Eco Club that was being formed on the orders of Government.
 
The Science Teacher, Ms. Vinayashree and the 40 students, who are drawn from Classes 8 and 9, were very enthusiastic and said that they would take up a number of activities as members of this forum.

Government High School in Boodigere - One more RWH from EAB

Another Rain Water Harvesting work was taken up in the Government High School in Boodigere, Devanahalli taluka. The work started on March 31, 2021.
 
Dr Nadadur, President and Sri Thirumalarao, Director visited the school on April 01, 2021. The work was in progress at that time. The work was being carried out by Sri Gundappa, Project Manager under the direction of Sri Subbaiah, Administrator, Oxford English School, Devanahalli.
 
The Headmaster of the school was present. He requested that an additional water tank and a portable ladder may be provided to the school. Dr Nadadur accepted both these requests and advised Sri Gundappa to add these to the original estimate that he had prepared and taken approval for.
 
The work is expected to be completed in the first week on April. Thereafter, it will be tested and commissioner and formally handed over to the school.
