1996 – Seminar on Environmental Related Issues of Bangalore – This Seminar was held soon after the brainstorming workshop. A number of technical papers were presented and discussed at the Seminar. There was also participation from the Water Environment Federation, USA, to which the EAB later became affiliated.
1997 – Restoration of Vasanthapura Lake – Phase-1 – This lake is located by the side of the ISRO Layout in Bangalore. In 1997, EAB presented a proposal to the Forest Department (which was the custodian of this lake) to restore and beautify the lake. The proposal was approved and EAB was requested to facilitate this work with their technical know-how. This lake was silted-up and waste- water was flowing into it. A small island that used to exist in the lake was not traceable because of the silt. A small temple on the island was in a bad state. The EAB took up restoration of the lake along with the Forest Department. Technical, Members of the EAB gave aesthetic and other suggestions. In addition, EAB also mobilized support from nearby residents and organized a shramadana to undertake some physical work. 1998 – Restoration of Vasanthapura Lake – Phase-2 – The work was continued in 1998 also. The wastewater flowing into the lake was treated before being allowed into the lake. The silt was removed and used to re-create the island. The temple was restored. Further a garden was laid out and a jogging track created on the strengthened bund of the lake. Vasanthapura Lake, which was a real eyesore, gradually became a thing of beauty and a welcome lung-space for the residents of the area. The work was carried out in a scientific and systematic manner, with the technical support and guidance of EAB and the results have endured with the co-operation and active participation of the residents of the Layout. 1999 – Workshop on Lakes for Bangalore's Water Needs – Beautification and Prevention of Pollution – Technical Papers were presented regarding the Bellandur Lake, Hebbal Lake, Kempambudhi Lake, Madivala Lake and Ulsoor Lake. Papers were also presented on how the water of the lakes is necessary to meet the water requirements of certain parts of Bangalore City and also on the health-related problems that arise due to the pollution of the lakes. 2000 – International Seminar on Industrial Wastewater – Recycle and Reuse – A number of technical papers were presented at this Seminar, which was also attended by experts from the USA. 2001 – International Seminar on Hazardous Waste Management – Technical papers were presented by experts who were drawn from Mumbai and also from the USA. 2002 – National Seminar on Resurrection of Lakes – Technical papers were presented by experts, who are located in Bangalore and Hyderabad. 2003 – Birthday Saplings Project – EAB launched an innovative project in August, 2003. The project was conceptualized in such a manner that when children of selected schools celebrated their birthdays, they also planted a sapling in school and look after it as long as she/he remains in school. Three institutions were chosen in the pilot phase of this project. They were – The Campus School of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore; Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan; and Sri Ramana Maharshi Academy for the Blind. 2004 – Seminar on Integrated Urban Environment Management – Papers were presented by experts on various aspects relating to the above subject, which is of great relevance in the present day. The first EnviroQuiz was organized for schools located in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar. Five schools, Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Sri Rajarajeswari Vidyashala, Swargarani School, BET Convent and Carmel Convent participated in the Quiz, which saw a keen contest among the students, who were drawn from Classes 7, 8 and 9. 2005 – A Seminar was held on 'Lake Management' on May 08, 2005. Papers were presented by experts of various aspects of this subject. Certain technical conclusions were also brought to the notice of the audience which comprised of persons interested in the restoration and preservation of lakes in Bangalore. The second EnviroQuiz was organized for schools located in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar. Five schools, Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Sri Rajarajeswari Vidyashala, Swargarani School, BET Convent and Carmel Convent participated in the Quiz, for students, who were drawn from Classes 7, 8 and 9. 2006 – A Seminar was held on 'Urban Waste Management' on July 08, 2006. It was inaugurated by Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Honourable Member of Parliament. A number of papers were presented. Important policy recommendations were made at the conclusion of the seminar. The third EnviroQuiz was organized for schools located in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar. Five schools, Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Sri Rajarajeswari Vidyashala, Swargarani School, BET Convent and Carmel Convent participated in the Quiz, which was for students, who were drawn from Classes 7, 8 and 9. 2007 – A Seminar on Water and Air Pollution was organised on Saturday, the 9 th June, 2007 at National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. Prof. U R Rao, former Chairman, ISRO, inaugurated the Seminar. Nine papers were presented on the theme of the Seminar. Poster presentation for school children was also arranged. Three best poster prizes were awarded to the school children. The fourth Annual EnviroQuiz was conducted for schools in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar, on December 8, 2007. The Quiz was conducted by Dr K Ganesha Raj, Shri P G Diwakar and Dr M A Paul. Dr R G Nadadur, Dr M Sameena, Shri E K Kutty, Shri V Kunihiraman, Smt Meenakshi Patil, Shri TRSVS Shastry, Smt M Bhavani and Ms Mona of EAB also participated. Prizes and certificates were awarded to all winners and participants. 2008 – A Seminar on Climate Change was organised on Saturday, the 14th June, 2008 at National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. Shri A N Yellappa Reddy, Former Secretary, Government of Karnataka, inaugurated the Seminar. Dr Dilip Ahuja, ISRO Professor of Science & Technology Policy, NIAS, delivered the keynote address. Four papers were presented on the theme of the Seminar. The Fifth Annual EnviroQuiz was conducted for six schools in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar, on November 29, 2008. The Quiz was conducted by Dr M A Paul, Dr Ganesha Raj and Shri P G Diwakar. Dr R G Nadadur, Shri D A Vekatesh, Dr M Sameena and Shri C J Jagadeeesha of EAB also participated. Prizes and certificates were awarded to all winners and participants. 2009 – A Seminar on Urban Environment was organised on Saturday, the 11th July, 2009 at National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. Chief Guest of the day, Dr M H Swaminath, Secretary to Government, Forest, Environment Ecology Department inaugurated the Seminar. Seven papers were presented on the theme of the Seminar. There was a good participation from school and college students. Both the college as well as the school students presented papers. The Sixth Annual EnviroQuiz was conducted for seven schools in Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar, on December 05, 2009. The Quiz was conducted by Dr K Ganesha Raj and Dr M A Paul. Smt Janaki Nadadur, Shri D A Vekatesh, Smt Radha Jaisimha and Smt Bhavani of EAB also participated. Prizes and certificates were awarded to all winners and participants. 2010 - A Seminar and Exhibition were held on the theme of “Rain Water Harvesting”, June 12, 2010 at National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. 11 papers were presented by academics, experts and professionals. An exhibition was held in which five private enterprises participated and displayed the various equipment, models, types of pumps etc., to be used for rain water harvesting. Three colleges participated in the model competition and six schools participated in poster session organised on the theme. The Seventh Annual EnviroQuiz was conducted on December, 18, 2010 at Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Sri Rajarajeswarinagar, Bangalore. Six schools participated in the quiz programme. The quiz was conducted by Dr M A Paul and Dr Rinku Verma. Trophies, Certificates and Prizes were given to the winning students and the participants. Dr K Ganesha Raj, Dr M Sameena, and Smt Radha Jaisimha were present from EAB. 2011 - A Seminar was held for school children in Sri Jnanakshi Vidya Niketan, on June 18, 2011. The theme of the seminar was ‘Space Applications”. Scientists from ISRO made presentations about various space applications, like Management of Natural Resources using Satellite data, Ecology, Environment, Hot-spots, Tele-education, Tele-medicine, and Chandrayaan-1. The presentations were followed by question-answer sessions. 2012 - The Eighth Annual EnviroQuiz was conducted on February, 4, 2012 at Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Sri Rajarajeswarinagar, Bangalore. Six schools participated. The quiz was conducted by Dr M A Paul and Dr Rinku Verma. Trophies, Certificates and Prizes were given to the winning students and the participants. Dr D A Venkatesh and Smt Radha Jaisimha were present from EAB. 2014 - A mela was organized by the Sri Kailasa Mahasamsthana Math in connection with the consecration of the Raja Gopura of the Sri Rajarajeswari Temple. EAB arranged a Green Carnival for school and college children on July 12 and 13. There were talks, videos shown and drawing and painting competitions for the children. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. 2015 - The Ninth EnviroQuiz was held on January 31. Five schools of Sri Rajarajeswari Nagar participated in this event. The Quiz was conducted by Col R Rama Rao and Smt Padma Rama Rao. Sri Shivaswamy was the Chief Guest and Smt Shivaswamy distributed the prizes.
