A Vana Mahotsava was organized in some villages in Mulabagal Taluka of Kolar District on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Dr Nadadur, Sri Kumaraswamy, Smt Janaki Nadadur and Smt Uma Kumaraswamy from EAB, Smt Usha Shetty and her team from Gramaantara Trust and Smt Janet Yegneswaran and her team from Reforest India jointly organized this event. In the event, 24 farmers and 1 temple spread over 2 villages, were covered. There were 25 beneficiaries and 250 saplings were planted in the fields of farmers, who had come forward to receive them. The saplings belonged to the following varieties – lemon, mango, jamun, sapota, jackfruit, butter fruit, guava, pomegranate, avocado pear, drumstick, and coconut. All these varieties of saplings were distributed as requested by the farmers during a preliminary field visit and survey by the Gramaantara Trust team. The farmers have agreed to take good care of the saplings and nurture them. EAB thanks its partners and their teams, and also its own members, office-bearers and sponsors for their support.

Environment Association of Bangalore (EAB), Gramaantara Trust and Boodigere Grama Panchayat have jointly built Rain Water Harvesting System (RWH) in Government High School, Boodigere, Devanahalli Taluka.
It was dedicated to the School on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Dr. Nadadur, Colonel Uthaiah, Sri Thirumalarao, Sri Kumaraswamy, Sri Bhaskar and Sri Laksh Kumar of EAB, Smt Usha Shetty of Gramaantara Trust and Smt Gita Anand, President, Boodigere Grama Panchayat participated in the dedication function. Dr Nadadur thanked Sri K M Subbaiah, Administrator, Oxford English School, Devanahalli for his very active support in executing this project. He also thanked Smt Usha Shetty, Managing Trustee, Gramaantara Trust and Smt Gita Anand, President Boodigere Grama Panchayat for their support is implementing this project. Summary of the project This project envisaged the harvesting of rain water from the roof top of the school building. The rain water is filtered and stored in a large sump and pumped to different overhead tanks, which are used for the purposes of toilets, washing and cleaning. The beneficiaries of this project are students and staff of the school, in terms of maintaining better cleanliness, hygiene and health. It is specifically aimed at providing water during the water-scarcity months. A Vana Mahotsava was organized in some podus (hamlets) of villages near the Biligiri Ranganna Betta (B R Hills), Chamarajanagara District on Saturday, August 07, 2021.
Dr Nadadur, Sri Bhaskar, Sri Thirumalarao, Smt Sujatha, Smt Suma, Sri Laksh Kumar and Sri Bindukiran from EAB, Smt Usha Shetty and her team from Gramaantara Trust and Smt Janet Yegneswaran and her team from Reforest India were expected to participate in this event. In view of the rise in Covid cases, Government imposed a weekend curfew in Chamarajanagara District. Hence, it was not possible to travel to the field. However, in order to not disappoint the eager beneficiaries, some representatives of the organizers travelled to the field and handed over the saplings. In the event, there were 54 beneficiaries. As many as 108 saplings were planted in the fields of beneficiaries, who had come forward to receive them. The saplings were all the Tiptur Tall variety of Coconut. This was requested by the beneficiaries during a preliminary field visit and survey. They agreed to take good care of the saplings and nurture them. In the event, 6 villages were covered. There were 30 beneficiaries and 150 saplings were planted in the fields of farmers, who had come forward to receive them. The saplings belonged to the following varieties – lemon, mango, jamun, sapota, jackfruit, butterfruit, guava, pomegranate, drumstick, and coconut. All these were distributed as requested by the farmers during a preliminary field visit and survey by the Gramaantara Trust team.
