Students of the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship had approached Dr R G Nadadur, President, EAB. They requested him to arrange an exposure visit for them to know about various environment-related issues. Dr Nadadur took the students to the Bannerghatta National Park and explained issues and problems that impinge upon the environment. He was also joined by the Swamiji and Sri Murali of the Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Shivanahalli and Dr Bindu Nataraj of the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Kalluballu. The students evinced great interest and decided that they would work to preserve and protect the environment.

A cycle rally was held in Devanahalli Town. The theme was Cycle to Recycle. The 4 Rs of the environment were shared with the participants - Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Nearly 200 persons participated in this event, which was held in partnership with the Oxford English School, Devanahalli. The Rally was flagged off by the Honourable Justice, Mr. Harish, District and Sessions Judge. Mrs. Gayatri Devi, Block Education Officer was present as Chief Guest. The rally went through the main thoroughfares of the town chanting slogans and holding placards exhorting the public to protect and preserve the environment. The rally stopped at the bus stand where non-biodegradable material, such as plastics and waste paper were collected. Participants included Mr K. M. Subbaiah, Mr. M Ramachandra Gowda, Mr. Ramakrishna, Mrs. Chaya Pawar, teachers, staff and students from the Oxford English School. Also, from the EAB, Dr R. G. Nadadur (President), Dr M Sameena (Vice-President), Mr Bhaskar (Secretary), Mr Kumaraswamy (Treasurer), Mr Bindukiran (Joint Treasurer), Mrs. Sujatha, Colonel C M Uthaiah, Colonel C S Vijaykanth, Mrs Janaki Nadadur, Mrs Shanthi Uthaiah, Ms. Rafeena, Ms Mubeena and others participated in the rally.
A unique plantation festival was launched in the School. 320 students drawn from classes 6 to 9th were divided into 40 groups. Each group was given a hibiscus plant to nurture over a 6 month period. They were told that prizes will be awarded for the best plant in December.
