Environment Association of Bangalore (EAB), Gramaantara Trust and Boodigere Grama Panchayat have jointly built Rain Water Harvesting System (RWH) in Government High School, Boodigere, Devanahalli Taluka.
It was dedicated to the School on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Dr. Nadadur, Colonel Uthaiah, Sri Thirumalarao, Sri Kumaraswamy, Sri Bhaskar and Sri Laksh Kumar of EAB, Smt Usha Shetty of Gramaantara Trust and Smt Gita Anand, President, Boodigere Grama Panchayat participated in the dedication function. Dr Nadadur thanked Sri K M Subbaiah, Administrator, Oxford English School, Devanahalli for his very active support in executing this project. He also thanked Smt Usha Shetty, Managing Trustee, Gramaantara Trust and Smt Gita Anand, President Boodigere Grama Panchayat for their support is implementing this project. Summary of the project This project envisaged the harvesting of rain water from the roof top of the school building. The rain water is filtered and stored in a large sump and pumped to different overhead tanks, which are used for the purposes of toilets, washing and cleaning. The beneficiaries of this project are students and staff of the school, in terms of maintaining better cleanliness, hygiene and health. It is specifically aimed at providing water during the water-scarcity months.
