Environment Association of Bangalore (EAB) and Gramaantara Trust have jointly built a Rain Water Harvesting System (RWH) in the Government Urdu High School, Sidlaghatta Town, Chickaballapura District.
It was dedicated to the School on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Dr. Nadadur, Colonel Uthaiah, Sri Thirumalarao, Sri Kumaraswamy, Sri Bhaskar and Sri Laksh Kumar of EAB and Smt Usha Shetty and her team from Gramaantara Trust participated in the dedication function. Dr Nadadur thanked Smt Usha Shetty, Managing Trustee, Gramaantara Trust and her team and Sri Ranganath, Headmaster of the School and his team of students and teachers for their support in implementing this project. Summary of the project This project envisaged the harvesting of rain water from the roof top of the school building. The rain water is filtered and stored in a large sump and pumped to different overhead tanks, which are used for the purposes of toilets, washing and cleaning. The beneficiaries of this project are students and staff of the school, in terms of maintaining better cleanliness, hygiene and health. It is specifically aimed at providing water during the water-scarcity months.
